Director's Diary - 1 DAY OUT
I can't believe it's finally here. J/k, I have been in the trenches, SAG paperwork and clearance was A LOT of work and at times, it almost didn't seem like I was going to be able to do it.
I had a wonderful rep., who was very understanding of the death in my family.
So she was very patient with me and delicate as I questioned where I should go to get the information from, and the was A LOT of information.
Off the top of my head - COVID 6ft Social Distancing Shot List, Shooting Plan, Floor Layout. Location AC system details, Safety Plan, Health and Safety Supervisor Resume and Certification.
Three days shooting, COVID tests every 72 hours. ZONE A and ZONE B plans...
Like I wrote, it was A LOT.
It makes sense though, because we had many fallouts and changes due to the virus. :( And SAFETY FIRST.
Our Associate Producer got amazing t-shirts printed for Sunday!!! Our Executive Producer had custom signs printed for check-ins, our kickass Line Producer managed all agreement tracking and budget.
Oh how that word haunts me... Budget. Yes, we are over - the camera details (lens, filters, sub-parts to attach the lens) and then it feels like every rental had a small expenditure attached to it, which really adds up.
All in all, I think we will be about $1500 over budget. Not bad. However, it's the first time I've really ran over, so perturbed, but not bad, especially considering everything we are getting for it.
I have never felt this supported before - I am so very excited. Tomorrow is going to be a whirlwind, but we've got this in the bag!
